Immigrating to NZ
New Zealand is a popular destination for people looking to create a new life in a safe and stable country and for property investors looking to build an international portfolio. We also work with a lot of Kiwi's living in the UK who want to secure a property for their eventual return home. Things you should know Typically people buy a house with a mortgage, usually providing a deposit of 20% of the purchase price (in some instances 100% loans are available). To gain approval for a mortgage you are required to prove to the lender that you can meet the repayments, so as well as a deposit you need an income large enough to afford the home you want. (Fill out the NZMBA Loan Application Form and test your eligibility click here). Banks do have a preference for wages and salary earners but is still possible to do self-employed mortgages. However we find that many immigrants arrive in New Zealand with deposit and no income or alternatively they have the income but not the deposit. At David Tillman Mortgages we work hard to find solutions to these challenges by using a wide range of banks and non-bank lending institutions, and can often find mortgage finance for immigrants who don't have a deposit, or don't have an income. We can arrange approvals via the Internet, or alternatively we can meet with you when you are visiting NZ. Your Broker will provide all the information you need, and even introduce you to a lawyer or real estate sales person, if you don't know one yourself. Our clients come from all around the world, including:
We have even arranged loans (via satellite phone) for people sailing to NZ. We suggest you use our mortgage calculator to find out how much you can borrow and what the repayments are going to be. To learn more about immigrating to
